OUR STORY
A Different Standard of Care
Grand Prix Resources was established to develop and deliver services that were not otherwise available to discerning boat owners without full time crew.
The idea took shape in the winter of 2014 during a conversation between races while sailing Star boats in Miami, when founder William Gammell and longtime friend Jesse Fielding identified a gap they both knew well: owners of performance and cruising yachts who didn’t need a full-time captain, but still wanted uncompromising preparation, attention to detail, and trust. In April 2015, Grand Prix Resources was formed to address that need.
“The difference is in what’s handled before the owner ever steps aboard.”
A Network Built on Trust, From Racing Programs to Full Stewardship
Grand Prix Resources began with a focus on race program management, growing from an operation based around the East Coast racing calender into a fully booked, year-round business by 2019. When racing paused in 2020, the company adapted, expanding into cruising yachts, refits, captain services, and long-term vessel care. Through complex refit projects and international campaigns, Grand Prix Resources has built a global network of exceptional craftsmen and service providers. These relationships are grounded in respect, shared standards, and mutual accountability. We believe credit should follow the work, and that quality attracts quality — allowing us to execute calmly and decisively, whether in NorthEast, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean or wherever our next project takes us.
“Our work enables the experience, not the other way around.”
What Sets Us Apart
Grand Prix Resources is defined by attention to detail, not only in craftsmanship, but in understanding people. The most important work happens before we pick up our tools: listening carefully, setting proper expectations, clarifying priorities, all while communicating transparently about timelines, budgets, and outcomes. Trust is built through consistency and good faith. GPR maintains a 24/7, year-round commitment to its clients, wherever they may be, and whatever the problems which occur. Boats are not simply serviced and released; they are monitored, maintained, and prepared for the whatever may come nect. And when issues arise away from home, we don’t just make calls. We show up.
“Smaller by design. Nimble by necessity. Relentless by choice.”
Why We Exist
Grand Prix Resources exists to make ownership simpler without diminishing ambition. Whether preparing for a race start, a long passage, or a quiet evening aboard, our role is the same: to handle the details that matter, so our clients can focus on why they came to the water in the first place.
“Because the best experiences feel effortless, even when they aren’t.”
